Founded on Biblical Values, Philopateer Christian College provides its students with a solid grounding in Academics, Christian Principles and Family Values.
Philopateer Christian College is registered with the Ministry of Education in Ontario and delivers programs utilizing the internationally respected Ontario Secondary School and Elementary School Curriculum with class sizes maximized at 18 students. In addition, during each school year, PCC students take a Bible course which is ministry approved at the High School level. Christian principles and teachings are integrated into daily programs. Our High School academic program is enriched with the optional offering of the AP (Advanced Placement) program. The AP program is run concurrently with the Ontario curriculum courses with added tutorial support for exam preparation. All programs at PCC are taught by very knowledgeable and caring teachers who are committed to student success and providing an environment conducive to academic excellence. PCC graduates have been accepted to top Canadian and International Universities.
To enhance student success, PCC provides a number of support services to every student. Counselors in our Student Services Department support High School students with course counseling, university and scholarship application and information. Resource teachers provide individual and small group academic support. All teachers offer extra assistance at noon hours and after school. Class sizes are maximized at 18 enabling students to receive maximum teacher attention. PCC provides preparatory support for those High School students requiried to take the English Proficiency Test. The Logos Tutoring Center is associated with our school and its services are available to students if needed.
PCC recognizes the importance of regular communication with parents regarding the progress of our students. We believe that working together enhances student success. Our main source of communication is through the website Edsby, an online forum that hosts the classes of the students. In addition to Edsby, our teachers are encouraged to contact parents regularly and all parent inquiries are followed up in a timely manner through phone calls, emails or personal interviews. Parents are able to access information regarding their children through Edsby using their assigned username and password. Parents can see daily attendance and punctuality, contact teachers, and view posted homework and assignments.
